Our Story
GoodBound began with tea and a simple idea: finding a great cup shouldn't have to be complicated. With so many teas to choose from, we wanted to offer a smaller collection of teas we genuinely think are worth drinking. Some we blend ourselves. Others we find, taste, and choose for their quality and character. Either way, we do the choosing carefully.
Founded just outside New York City in the Lower Hudson Valley, GoodBound is built on the belief that thoughtful choices make a difference. From the teas we select to the people we work with, we believe quality is something you can taste. That means seeking out good ingredients, working with trusted suppliers and makers, and keeping things honest and uncomplicated. Like careful foragers, the bees are always looking for what's worth bringing home. We try to do the same.
Tea also has deep roots here. Early Dutch traders brought tea into the colonies through Manhattan, while the word cookie likely comes from the Dutch koekje. It's a bit of local history we especially like, because a good cookie still seems right at home beside a cup of tea.
Our founder grew up inspired by food pioneers like W.K. Kellogg and C.W. Post, whose innovations helped make carefully prepared foods part of everyday life. From Battle Creek, Michigan, where they helped shape American food culture, to New York's Hudson Valley, where GoodBound found its home, that spirit of making good things for everyday life continues to inspire us.
Tea remains at the heart of GoodBound. From our own blends to classic and seasonal selections, everything earns its place here. From time to time, the bees may bring home a few other good things that belong beside a cup of tea, too.
We don't think a good cupboard needs to be a crowded one. Just a few good things, chosen with care and worth sharing.
